About
Nina Fielding (Nina Veldwiesch, June 21st 1993) is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Groningen, the Netherlands. Being interested in music from a very young age, she would listen to any music she could get her hands on; ultimately resulting in a huge love for country and folk music. She always aspired to someday make music like her biggest musical heroes: Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell and Emmylou Harris. Those are singers that put a big emphasis on lyrics and story-telling, enabling their listeners to use their imagination. This is also an important aspect in Nina’s songwriting: to give listeners a musical experience. In Nina’s music, you hear a bit of every one of her musical influences, all the while showing her own unique style.
She took on singing and piano lessons at the NMI (Noorder Muziek Instituut) in Groningen, but decided that the guitar was more ‘her’ instrument, which is why she chose to further develop her guitar skills. She also sings in a cover band called O.D.D., which was also formed at the NMI.
After studying English Translation for a year, Nina decided it was time to pursue her love for music and applied to the Hanze Academy for Popular Culture in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. She is now in her graduation year and is extra busy writing songs and recording them. Soon to be heard on this website!
